Literacy Specialist (K-12)
Our Literacy Specialists deliver professional learning experiences and workshops that assist districts, schools, and teachers in planning for and implementing high-quality literacy solutions aligned to goals and State standards. The Literacy Specialists are expected to work virtually and on- site with teachers and administrators.
Job Description
Vantage Literacy Specialists deliver training and services that assist districts, schools, and teachers in planning for and implementing high-quality literacy solutions aligned to district goals and strategic initiatives. These services include, but not limited to: anytime phone support, onsite and virtual monthly data reviews, curriculum alignment, setup and support of benchmarking program, interpreting reports and identifying strategies for differentiated learning.
We are looking for people who enjoy connecting with educators and student learners and care about impacting education; who can travel, handle multiple projects/schools and are team players.
Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Master’s Degree of Education (ELA, Curriculum and Instruction, Administration).
3 + years’ experience delivering professional development for teachers; coaching experience.
Strong understanding of Common Core, ESSA, etc.
5+ years of effective ELA teaching experience including curriculum development and implementation of evidence-based instructional strategies.
Excellent written, speaking and presentation skills.
Expertise in analyzing data to inform instruction; identifying strategies to support differentiated learning.
Demonstrated ability to model lessons and coach teachers as they practice with the strategies that were demonstrated.
Demonstrated ability to receive feedback and adapt practice based upon the feedback.
Travel required.
